Manzano Fall Project 2026

NMVFO volunteers met at Ox Canyon Trailhead in the Manzanos to work on trails. Several camped overnight Friday, but I arrived early enough Saturday to enjoy breakfast burritos.

We split into 3 squads, and my group of 6 hiked up Ox Canyon Trail and turned south on Manzano Crest Trail, for a 10 mile day with 2k elevation gain. We ended up clearing 41 blowdowns, using our trusty 2 person crosscut Saw #2.

We enjoyed views from the west and the east from the crest.
