Buckskin?

HDT 2022 Day 27, April 27, Wednesday
Start entrance to Park Wash, S9 mile 33.6
End Coyote Valley Road S9 mile 58.5
Miles walked: 24.9

Going along Park Wash means struggling with loose sand in the channel.

Soon the route gains a dirt road just above the wash, with easier hiking.

After several miles the route goes up Buckskin Gulch, just beyond the highway to Kenab. The canyon appears with many smaller rocks topped by cliff bands, similar to canyons in NM and AZ.

Hiking starts becoming challenging, with many rocks in the path–unlike the obstacle-free canyons in recent days. The water promised in my notes within Buckskin Gulch has long dried up, so my supply is running low.

The Trailhead and fee area starts at Coyote Valley Road. The area seems popular, with several dispersed campers.

Since camping permits are not available at the permit station–only day permits, I cowboy-camp a little early and will pass through the fee area tomorrow morning.
