This was a weekend NMVFO project, but I came down just for Saturday, November 7, 2015. Tenters camped at the visitor center.

On this one-day project in the Dome Wilderness, out past Cochiti, with NMVFO to repair trail, I met a hiker from my Appalachian Trail 2012 trip, a member of “Pile ‘O Dudes”!

The NMVFO and additional volunteers built new trail and cleared brush at the new national wildlife refuge just south of Albuquerque, built on the site of an old dairy. We worked along the bosque, often in sight of water.
