Aguirre Springs 2026

NMVFO returns to Aguirre Springs Campground near Las Cruces for our last scheduled project of the year. This BLM facility is huge, with over 60 well-constructed sites in the Organ Mountains, overlooking a vast plain below. We occupy a group campsite with a large shelter for our kitchen and dining area.

The mountains are magnificent, now green from recent rains.

We work on Baylor Pass trail, fixing water features and lopping.

Rain, and sometimes hail, descend forcefully on occasion, but not during working hours. The sky puts on a show.

Thanks goes out to the 3 BLM staffers who came out and joined us our last day.
