The northern part of Shipman after Nave Spring is not nearly as brushy as closer to the trailhead, but as the trail approaches Apache Kid we enter a zone of Gambel Oak, and a thorough lopping takes a long while.
But I do not do a thorough job, and just hit the worst bits for now. Time to head home in preparation for a well-deserved zero day tomorrow.

Blue skies and no sign of rain help the ongoing effort. On the slope up to Myers Cabin is a huge tangle of downed trees, with no visible tread.
Most can be moved with no-cut, and eventually a way is cleared.
About 15 large logs remain on this section, that I had hoped to complete today. The larger logs take quite a while to cut solo, perhaps 30 minutes or more apiece, so that could be another full day.
